Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

Team Signal helps managers keep track of commitments made in Slack. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it plain-spoken on purpose — if anything here is unclear, email us and we'll explain.

Team Signal is currently in pre-launch. Today we only collect what you give us when you join the Founders Circle. The sections about connecting Slack describe how the product will handle your data once it is available and you choose to connect a workspace.

Who we are

Team Signal ("Team Signal", "we", "us") operates the website at teamsignal.team and the Team Signal application. You can reach us any time at hello@teamsignal.team.

Information we collect

1. When you join the Founders Circle (today)

When you fill in the waitlist form, we collect the details you enter:

Our website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google may receive your IP address and basic request information when the page loads. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.

2. When you connect Slack (once the product launches)

If you choose to connect a Slack workspace, Team Signal will access, only for workspaces and conversations you explicitly select:

We only read the conversations you point us to. We do not read your entire Slack workspace, and we never post on your behalf without your action.

How we use your information

AI processing

To identify commitments, Team Signal sends the content of your selected conversations to a third-party AI provider (see sub-processors below) which returns a structured list of commitments. We do not use your data to train AI models, and we require our AI provider not to train on it either. AI output can be imperfect — you always review your ledger, and the AI does not take any consequential action on your behalf.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Team Signal, under agreements that limit them to that purpose:

Google Firebase / FirestoreAuthentication and secure storage of your account and commitments
OpenRouter (and the AI model provider it routes to, e.g. Google)AI extraction of commitments from selected messages
DigitalOceanApplication hosting
Google FontsServing website fonts

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of Team Signal and its users.

Data retention

We keep waitlist details until you ask us to remove them or you unsubscribe. Once the product is live, we keep the data tied to your account for as long as your account is active, and delete it when you disconnect Slack, delete your account, or ask us to — see your rights below.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; we honor those requests. To exercise any of these, email hello@teamsignal.team and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

We protect data in transit using TLS encryption and limit access to the people and systems that need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected users and, where required, regulators of any breach that puts your data at risk.

Children

Team Signal is a workplace tool intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the "last updated" date above. If the change is significant, we'll let you know by email.
